Since I was bed ridden, isolated from my princess (for her health), and had no TV in the room I decided to re-watch Star Trek: Enterprise on my notebook.
I loved this show and was quite sad when they decided to cancel it after 4 seasons. I guess I can understand it from the network’s point of view: low ratings equates to no money.
The special effects were pretty cool - there’s just something very romantic whenever the Enterprise cruises against the backdrop of stars and planets - the synergy between the main characters was addictively intriguing, and despite the negative feedback, the stories told were well scripted.
In the first season we get introduced to the Temporal Cold War as a back story, which then served as the basis for the episode titled Shockwave; part 1 was the finale for the first season and part 2 served as the commencement of the second season.
Bring back Enterprise!

This morning, I slept in by 20min and I only just missed the 6:30am bus. Don’t you hate it when you’re dashing to catch a bus only to see the rear of the bus moving away just as you are almost near the bus stop? This is what exactly what had happened to me. Further to this, the sudden exertion, cool morning and still recovering from being sick last week triggered my asthma - so I had to sit down, perform some breathing exercises before using my asthma puffer (inhaler).
Around 4pm, I discovered I had forgotten to wear my belt! How embarrassing! I hadn’t noticed before because I still had my jacket on from this morning. Anyway, the jacket went straight back on once I discovered this oversight.
Anyway, it was just another ordinary day …

Our double garage has been reduced to a single garage because half of it is occupied with items which we haven’t unpacked (because we can’t find a place for them) and because we don’t need them just now. In addition, as we put more into our garden, we also collect more tools to manage the garden with. All of this equates to one side of the garage for the car … and the other half for all of the above.
So what will we do when we get ourselves a second car? Guess we’ll have to think of establishing a garden shed (somewhere) and also consider some sort of self storage arrangement to relocate items which we don’t require right now but would like to keep. Either way, looks like I’ll have to factor this into the already tight budget!

While I was clearing some files on my notebook, I came across some videos we made of our precious princess. A few were made Feb-Mar last year and there were a few just made around Christmas of 2007.
And when I reflect back on these videos and see where my princess has gotten to today, it just suddenly hit me how quickly she has developed over the past year. For example, the videos taken on 27 Dec 2007 she could barely speak a few words but today - 8 months later - her speech ability has developed rapidly that we can have a semi-coherent one sentence conversation.
While I won’t deny she can be a handful, be mischevious, be misbehaving, she is after all my daughter and I am proud of the milestones she’s achieved and, most of all, I love her

Their have been a spate of traffic accidents reported in the news, some minor and others ending up in a fatality like the accident involving a semi and a motorcycle nearby when I took my daughter for her allergy test, very recently.
I can only imagine how scarey such an accident is and if I were involved in one I would undoubtedly be in total shock. I wouldn’t know what to do and would be quite vulnerable as my guard is down, naturally, from the shock factor.
The last thing I would want is to be subjegated, influenced or co-erced by the trucking company’s legal representative into making statements which could compromise or violate my rights or protection. So it is assuring there are truck accident lawyers who are equipped with handling the proceedings accordingly, to ensure my rights and interests are protected.

We bought 3 Camellia japonica “Debutantee” (80-100cm tall) plants for the spaces we intentially left for them where we had planted the ‘Lemon Squash‘, along the fence to the rear of the house.
This is the most ideal location because the fence faces a northely direction meaning it will provide shelter from heavy winds, provide shelter from the sun (with exception in the late afternoon), and is least likely to suffer from frosts: the ideal position for this variety of Camellia.
As these plants prefer acidic soils, I mixed in some milled cow manure into the soil before planting the Camellias. Also planted them in a slightly elevated position (like how I had with the Lemon Squash) and covered with mulch; this will allow excess water to drain away easily and to ensure the soils maintains its moisture.
Now we just have to decide on what else we would like to plant … to fill in the void on the west-facing fence adjacent to the rear of the house. The problem is it slopes down slightly, as it nears the rear north-facing fence, so the water tends to collect into a pool; it eventually drains away but not quickly enough because the soil is still quite mushy.
